Endodontics is a branch of dentistry that deals with and treats various dental problems that have progressed to the dental pulp. Teeth, which have an important place in human life, are damaged over time due to various reasons.

One of the most serious and obvious of these damages is the decay of the tooth and loss of function. In this case, to ensure that the tooth can continue to function; Some treatments are applied. Root canal treatment is the most common of these.

Root Canal Treatment

Endodontics, known as the branch related to root canal treatments, deals with the cases where the pulp is damaged. Root canal treatment; It is a form of treatment applied in cases where the pulp, that is, the nerve, is damaged so that it cannot repair itself. In broken teeth or deep caries, bacteria often cause inflammation of the pulp.

If the inflamed and damaged nerve is not removed, it creates an infection in the tooth and surrounding tissues, and the tooth is lost. Cleaning the canal space by removing the pulp tissue; It is necessary to shape the canal and fill the canal with fillers. All these procedures are defined as root canal treatment.
